The Giles County E-911 Emergency Communications Board of Directors recently discussed a possibility of E-911 Director Mike Goode managing emergency equipment for each department in the county.

Minor Hill Mayor Tracy Wilburn made the suggestion of Goode taking the responsibility of repairing the communication towers and various other equipment for each department, which is currently owned by each individual entity.

Concerns were raised over the legality of maintaining or fixing equipment not owned by E-911.

Goode pointed out that he already offers his assistance when problems arise, but it is each department’s responsibility to manage their equipment.
