One fatality has been reported as a result of a head-on collision accident Thursday on Elkton Pike near Interstate 65.

Brittany Griffin, 28, of Pulaski was killed in the 4 p.m. accident and injured was Cammi Griffin of Ardmore and Kevin Dunn of Elkmont.

According to Tennessee Highway Patrol, Griffin was driving a 2006 Hyundai traveling South on Highway 31 and Dunn, was the driver of a Dodge Ram truck traveling North.

Preliminary description of crash indicates that Griffin crossed the center line and struck Dunn head on.

Cammi Griffin, a passenger in the Hyundai was transported by AirEvac to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville and Giles County EMS transported Dunn to a Huntsville Hospital.

Highway 31/Elkton Pike was shut down near Exit 1 for several hours. Traffic was diverted on Interstate 65 to Exit 6. .

First on the scene were members of Elkton Fire and Rescue who began the extrication. Giles County Fire and Rescue members soon arrived as well as Vanderbilt LifeFlight and Giles County EMS.
