Elkton Board of Mayor and Aldermen have approved the City Hall will be opened during tax season.

Collecting taxes is important to the city finances, the Mayor said, urging the board to find money to keep city hall open extra hours.

Police Officer Josh Davis talked about tentative plans for holding a rodeo in 2020, with board members.

Davis has talked with representatives from the Ardmore and Minor Hill police departments, where rodeos also are held and will continue researching the rodeo .

An activity report for the Elkton Fire Department from Fire Chief Payton Blade showed firefighters responded to 10 calls and attended two meetings in October. Four motor vehicle accidents, three vehicle fires and three grass fires each were reported.

The October activity report for the Elkton Police Department indicated 19 citations and four warning tickets, two concerned the financial responsibility law and one each for violation of the registration and driver education laws.
