The Pulaski Power Board convened in regular session in October.

CFO Bobby Jones told board members that the final Network Operating Center (NOC) audit report was received without findings.

Jones presented the Electric and Energize financial reports for the month of September, which was the end of first quarter of 2020 fiscal year and the first month that PES received the credit from TVA based on signing TVA’s long-term contract. As a result of budget amendments approved last month, most items reported were favorable for Electric and Energize.

The next item on the agenda was consideration of purchase of the parking lot directly across from the PES office building. Mayor Pat Ford had agreed to talk with owner, Bobby Chaffin, again to see if he would be willing to reduce his asking price.

However, Chaffin has stated that he is not willing to negotiate lower than $200,000, and board members agreed that the property would not be of enough benefit to PES to justify that amount.

Health insurance decisions will be discussed during the Board’s November 26th meeting. Prior to that date, PES staff will continue to work with advisors to provide board members with updated options

During the meeting, it was asked about the progress on the North End project, and Kirby Parr responded that contracts have been signed and materials ordered, so PES is on track for its portion of this project.

PES is scheduled to meet again Tuesday and among the items to be discussed include key financial metrics, health insurance and Energize video rate increase.
The meting begins at 5 p.m.
