Community First Bank and Trust is open today after the long standoff on Friday in which a male came into the bank with a machete and held nine people hostage.  

According to the Daily Herald, Douglas Roberts Roach of Cherokee, Alabama, entered the James Campbell Boulevard establishment at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday and exited nine hours later detained by officers.  

Hostages were released without injury throughout the afternoon with all of them released by 7 o'clock.  

It is unclear of what the man's motive was and why the bank may have been targeted.  

Roach was booked into the Maury County Jail and faces 10 counts of aggravated assault and 10 counts of aggravated kidnapping.  His bond is set at a quarter of a million dollars.
