As Goodman Manufacturing’s operations in Fayetteville continue to wind down, two more notices have been filed with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

The most recent notices pertain to 55 workers whose jobs will come to an end December 20th and two workers whose jobs will end December 31st.

Those numbers are in addition to 703 workers who were permanently laid off in September and another 529 employees whose jobs will come to an end next Wednesday.  All total, seven  notices have been filed with the state of Tennessee since 2018, bringing the total number of impacted workers to 1,385, with a number of workers from Giles County.

It has been four years since company officials announced in January of 2015 that the plant would be shuttered no later than 2017 as its parent company, Daikin, moved toward consolidation of manufacturing, engineering, logistics, marketing and sales for Goodman and other products lines to one location at the Daikin Texas Technology Park just outside of Houston.
