Tennessee Comptroller of Treasury reports the maximum income limit for the seniors and disable applying for property tax relief this year has risen to $29,860.

According to the Comptroller’s office, the limit includes income of each applicant, spouse and all owners of the property, but does not apply to disabled veteran or widow(er) of disabled veteran homeowners.

Information shows recipients must be totally and permanently disabled on or before December 31st, 2019.

Fliers containing more information about the program are available at the Giles County Trustee Joyce Curtis’s office at the Giles County Courthouse.

The maximum market value on which tax relief is calculated is $28,300 for elderly and disabled homeowners, or $175,000 for disabled veteran and widows or widowers of disabled veteran homeowners.

The deadline to apply is 35 days after the county’s or city’s delinquency date .
