Passing counterfeit money in Giles County continues today as an individual attempted to pass bills at McDonald’s on West College Street.

The driver was driving an older model green Ford Explorer with a male and female inside.

McDonald’s reported the vehicle had an Alabama tag number.

Pulaski Police Department continues the investigation at news time.

Alabama authorities have been advised of the Explorer because the driver was driving toward Minor Hill going South on Highway 11.

Hardee's in Ardmore reported Tuesday to the Giles County Sheriff's Department an individual was attempting to pass counterfeit money.

Workers at Hardees said the individual saw someone checking the 20 dollar bill and they left the scene headed toward Pulaski.

Sheriff Kyle Helton and the Pulaski Police Department say they are seeing an increase of reports regarding the counterfeiting of U.S. currency and fraudulent use of debit/credit cards. They commend the officers for their investigation and encourage the community to report any currency that appears suspicious to their office.
