TSA has launched a public awareness campaign about the upcoming identification changes to ensure that every traveler is prepared for the airport security checkpoint process when the REAL ID Act goes into full enforcement.

Training began this summer in the Giles County Clerk's Office for the Real ID Gold Star License Requirements.

The Department of Homeland Security requires all states to be Real ID compliant by October 1, 2020.

According to Carol Wade, Giles County Clerk, the State of Tennessee began issuing Real ID credentials a few months ago.

Required Documents for the Real ID is proof of citizenship or legal presence, proof of social security number, and Proof of Tennessee residency.

A Real ID will be required to board domestic flights, accessing some Federal facilities and enter nuclear power facilities.
