Income and Expense reports in August were discussed during a monthly meeting of  the Minor Hill Board of Mayor and Alderman.

City Recorder Paige Birdsong said the city had $20,185 of income and $44,161 of expenses. "Insurance policies in August accounted for $21,831 of the expenses," she explained

Approximately $6,111 of local beer tax and $4,421 of sales tax receipts were reported in Minor HIll during August.

The city  continues to ask the state for answers about the division of sales tax revenue with the Minor Hill Utility District.

Mayor Tracy Wilburn reported the city has contacted the state repeatedly for more information, and more questions have arisen.

On another matter, work is expected to be completed on the convenience center, which will accept recyclables and other type of trash. The center is located near the helipad off Wray Branch Road.

Work continues on the tennis courts where Highway Department workers cleared the area recently while working on the convenience center.

Alderman Brandon Beard told the board an ordinance needs to be passed if the speed limit on Salem Road was changed.
