The Ardmore Board of Mayor and Aldermen ask police during a meeting to enforce the city’s ordinances dealing with dogs running loose.

The city of Ardmore passed an ordinance in 2006 requiring rabies vaccination and registration for dogs, that dogs needed to wear tags, that animals could not run at large, vicious dogs needed to be restrained, noisy dogs were prohibited and requiring confinement of dogs suspected of having rabies.

In 2006, and ordinance was also passed prohibiting pit bulls in the city, and requiring restraining of vicious dogs.

Alderman Garon Hargrove said the town has dogs running loose, being unrestrained and not vaccinated for rabies. We need to let owners know we have an ordinance and follow through on it.
