The Giles County Election commission  has named an Administrator of Elections following the retirement of Kathy Bassham.

Zena Dickey has been named Administrator of Elections and her first task is to become certified in her new position by the Tennessee Election Commission.

Dickey has worked in the county Election Commission office in the basement of the Giles County Courthouse Annex since 2012 and before that in the County Clerk’s office since 1995.

 Dickey said Bassham comes into the office to help answer questions and is a big help.

Anne Russell will continue to work in the election commission office.

“There are no plans to hire anyone else, at least not right now,” Dickey said.

 Giles County has its own Election Commission to oversee local county election workers.
