Two people have died from the injuries they sustained during a Sunday collision on South James Campbell Boulevard in Columbia.

Judy Ann Couch Jones, 74, died Sunday at Williamson County Medical Center and her husband Billy Jones, 79, died at Maury Regional Medical Center the same day after being transported from the scene of the crash in extreme critical condition.

The couple were both natives of Lewis County.

Billy Jones was a retired senior field inspector for Underwriters Laboratories and Judy Jones was a homemaker. They had been married for 51 years.

Witnesses said a gray Honda Accord, driven by the Jones’, crashed into the telephone pole while traveling southeast on James Campbell Boulevard. After colliding with the pole, the sedan then hit a white Nissan Rouge before hitting a gas pump and coming to a stop.

A third individual involved suffered minor injuries and left the scene without additional medical attention.

The Columbia Police Department is investigating the collision.
