Training for the South Central Tennessee Development District Long Term Care Ombudsman Program will be held September 26th and 27th for people interested in becoming a new Ombudsman volunteer.

Volunteer Ombudsmen visit residents in nursing and assisted living facilities and homes for the aged in the South Central 13-county district to monitor their conditions, report issues to the District Ombudsman on a monthly basis, educate staff, residents, and visitors of the facility about the Ombudsman program as well as helping residents with any problems or issues that may arise while living in a long term care facility.

Applicants must pass a background check and attend this two-day training to be held at the South Central TN Development District Office at 101 Sam Watkins Blvd., Mt. Pleasant.
