It's up to Giles County Commissioners to elect a representative for District 7 to fill the vacancy left when Shelly Goolsby resigned in July.

Anyone wanting to be nominated for the position should submit a letter to County Executive Melissa Greene's office no later than noon  Friday, September 6th.

To qualify for the position, you must live primarily in District 7 and should not be prohibited by the Constitution and laws of the state of Tennessee to serve as a County Commissioner.

The election will take place Monday, September 16th, when the Commission meets at 9 a.m. in the regular meeting place on the second floor of the Giles County Courthouse.

Candidates should be present at the meeting and be prepared to be immediately sworn in if he or she is elected.
