According to Kirby Parr with the Pulaski Electric System, there was a power outage that affected a good part of the county.

The reports started coming in around 10:00pm Sunday night. The transformer at the substation on highway 31 south had a part that failed, but due to the quick thinking of the PES crew, the power was only about one and a half hours.

The outage affected 7,000-8,000 customers in the county.
