Establishing and maintaining cover crops will be the focus of a field day set for Friday, August 23 at the Middle Tennessee Research and Education Center near Spring Hill.

University of Tennessee Specialists Dr Virginia Sykes and Dr. Forbes Walker will discuss the use of cover crops in a row cropping system. A tour of a cover crop research on the Center will be included.

UT Specialists Dr. Scott Stewart and Dr. Heather Kelly will discuss how to control insects and diseases to reduce issues in crops planted into cover crops. They will also address any current trends and issues with insects and diseases soybeans.

The field day is being sponsored by UT AgResearch, UT Extension and Bayer CropSciences.
