The Giles County Board of Education approved a new Transportation Supervisor during the special called meeting.

Teresa Busby was approved Tuesday by the board as the new supervisor and also to hire a new transportation  secretary.

Acting School Director Vickie Beard said everything came back from the state department that Mrs. Busby is acceptable for the position.

Also, on the agenda was  paying non-faculty coaches a supplement. The board approved a request to give Tanner Holley, non-faculty football coach at Giles County High School a supplement.

Before approval, questions were asked if there was a faculty member at GCHS that wanted this position and Donna Cobb, principal at the school, said when asked there were no faculty members at the school that wanted to accept the job.

The board agreed to send approvals to the School Committee so the budget for 2019-2020 can be amended.
