A Group of people who were boating Shoal Creek and reported missing were found safe early Wednesday morning after a multi-hour search by rescuers. 

Members of Lawrence County Volunteer Fire and Rescue, the Lawrenceburg Fire Department, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, The TWRA, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol, and Loretto Police Department were called to Iron City around 1 am this (Wednesday) morning on a report that a group including adults and children were missing after boating on the creek. 

Rescuers spent the next several hours searching a number of miles of the creek.  Those missing were found safe and in good condition on a creek bank in Lauderdale County just before 6 am Lawrence county EMS and box 50 responder services unit assisted at the scene.
