Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has appointed Giles County resident Chrissy Hood to a three-year term on the council of developmental disabilities.

Hood will represent the South Central Development District on the council, which is a state government agency that works to bring positive changes to the disability service system in Tennessee.

The council is the only state agency tasked with looking at how all the pieces of our disability system work together, identifying areas of need, and bringing different parts of government  and outside groups together to tackle challenges and improve services.

Hood is from Pulaski and founded the connecting journey special needs support group for area parents of children with disabilities.
