Tennessee Dog Park Dash and the Boyd Foundation has awarded the City of Pulaski with a $25,000 Dog Park grant.

The city submitted an application recently requesting funding and why the city deserves the grant money.

The grant comes from the Boyd Foundation which awarded up to $900,000, along with two $100,000 grand prize winners.

The city partnered with the South Central Tennessee Development District (SCTDD) in writing the grant.

Once the applications were submitted it took a month of social media to campaign requiring applicants to post pictures of their dogs and explaining about their desire to have a dog park. Pulaski was given points every time someone posted and used the hash-tags.

In a press release, Randy Boyd, co-founder of The Boyd Foundation, said they are amazed at the hard work and dedication of the people in our state to make life better for their pets and their neighbors. We cannot wait to see how these communities use their grants to create local parks for Tennesseans and their pets to enjoy for decades to come, he added.

The City of Pulaski has proposed to build the dog park in what is currently known as “Pleasant Run Park” near the city’s Pleasant Run Walking Trail.
