In Tennessee, children enrolling in school for the first time and all children entering seventh grade must provide schools with a state immunization certificate before classes start.

With the half day of school scheduled for Thursday, August 1st parents are reminded to be sure your student has all the required immunizations.

According to the Department of Health, most insurance plans fully cover required childhood vaccines.

For those without healthcare coverage, local health departments have vaccines available and can issue immunization certificates.

The complete list of Tennessee school immunization requirements is available online at tn.gov/health.
