Alabama's 14th annual sales tax holiday begins tomorrow (Friday) at 12:01 a.m. and ends at midnight Sunday.

The tax free weekend gives shoppers the opportunity to purchase certain school supplies, computers, books and clothing free of the state's four percent sales or use tax.

Items that are taxable include clothing accessories, protective equipment and sports/recreational equipment.

Computers, computer software and school computer supplies in a single purchase with a sales price of $750 or less are tax exempt. School supplies, school art supplies and school instructional material with a price of $50 or less per item are tax free.

Also included in the tax exempt items are art books priced at $30 or less per book.

Some restrictions apply to each category. Visit the website www.revenue.alabama.gov for a complete list of items that are tax exempt
