Plans for two subdivisions received preliminary approval recently from the Giles County Regional Planning Commission.

According to developers and owners, approximately 3 spec homes will be built in Timber Ridge which has 19 lots.

Scenic Cove is another development with 15 lots off Minor Hill Highway.

Homes in the subdivision will cost approximately $250,000.

Giles County Superintendent of Roads Barry Hyatt told commissioners he had no questions about the development.

Hyatt explained to the commission that a contractor will be building the road.

The commission was also asked from the developer if they need planning commission approval for additional development that is planned on land obtained from the Ables family.

Commissioners explained they did not need their permission, and agreed to keep a rule in their subdivision regulations requiring 15 days advance notice of proposed actions.
