The Giles County Board of Education considered high school and middle school  coaching  supplements during a work session Thursday night.

Budget Director Beth Moore-Sumners presented each board member with a list of supplements and amounts for both levels of all sports.

The supplements for all head coaches at Richland and Giles County High School were $6500 and Middle School amount was $3,000.

High School Athletic Directors will receive $5,000 and middle school $3,000.

Assistant coaches at each high school will receive $3,000 and middle school $2,000.

Maximum supplement will be set at $14,000 regardless of the number of activities coached.

Supplements will be paid only if team practice is held after school and coaches must be at practice and games per schedule files with TSSAA or TMSAA.

Sumners said her office was asked to work with principals to set supplements so coaches at both high school would make the same amount.

Supplements will be added to the individuals yearly salary.

The board agreed on the supplement list and will be voted on during the next board meeting on July 11.
