The Staar Theatre and Center for the Arts will receive  $5,000 out of the $495,000 non-profits and charitable proposed 2019-2020 Giles County budget.

The theatre had asked for $10,000 from the county, but since then the center has received an approximately $550,000 grant from the state.

Giles County Fire and Rescue will received $233,600, which is the largest amount given in next year's budget.

Also receiving the same amount as last year was the Giles County Chamber of Tourism and Commerce $24,170; Giles County Public Library, $161,756; Ardmore Public Library $3,650; Minor Hill library, $2,850;Campbellsville Library $1400; South Central Human Resources Agency $2,850; Pulaski-Giles County Industrial Development Board, $10,000; New Canaan Ranch and Giles County Veterans Alliance, $2500; Betterway House, $1,000.

Giles County Senior Citizens was recommended for $22,500 asking less after receiving $25,000 in 2018- 2019 budget.

The Giles County Child Development Center was recommended for $5,000, which was $1,000 less than was sought for 2019-20.

The Giles County Humane Association was recommended for $5,000. The association had asked for $10,000 to be included in this year's budget.

The Pouring Spot was recommended for $1,000, which received $2,000 in 2018-19 and had asked for $10,000 in 2019-20.

The Boys and Girls Club of Maury County was recommended for $1,000 in 2019-20 after asking for $4,900.

A public hearing is scheduled on June 25 to give final budget approval
