During the Giles County Board meeting Thursday evening two Giles County Supervisors announced they would not be returning when school begins in August.

After three years as Career Technical Education director, Keith Stacey is retiring.  Stacey told the board he has 30 years in education and it was time to do other things.

Stacey,  developed and administered the federal Perkins grant and served as a liaison between the school and business community.

His duties were  to oversee all aspects of  the CTE program and services, coordinate activities, schedules and programs with all county schools.

Yvonne Rose Brown is retiring beginning July 1. She is the school systems Special Education and Federal Programs Supervisor.

As supervisor of both IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and ESA (Elementary and Second Education Act) programs,  Brown's greatest area of strength is in program implementation and quality assurance.

She worked with district-level and school-level staff to ensure programs are implemented in an ethical and effective way that will result in improved student learning.

Brown provides specific, actionable, differentiated feedback to teachers in an effort to improve and refine teaching and learning.
