Two separate accidents Thursday resulted in a person being taken to Southern Regional Hospital by Giles County EMS.

First accident happened on Access Road off Highway 64 east when the vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree.

The person was taken to the hospital and injuries were not known .

Giles County Rescue Squad member Josh Fralix said the road was shut down for approximately one hour and traffic was re-routed.

Another accident happened on Columbia Highway, but THP reports were not available at news time.
