A Pulaski man is being held in an Alabama jail after a high-speed car chase that began in Giles County on Monday and went into Limestone County, Huntsville and ended in Madison County.

Anthony Scott Austin, 38, has been arrested and faces several charges in Alabama  and also Giles County.

According to Madison County Sheriff's Department, the chase started because of a theft in Giles County and ended on Bordeaux Lane in Madison when Austin got out of his vehicle and ran from law enforcement. He was later taken into custody without incident.  

In Madison County,  Austin has been charged with attempting to elude a police officer and buying/receiving stolen property.

Huntsville Police Department has also charged him with theft of property, driving with a suspended license, speeding, failure to appear, switched tag, driving without/with an expired license and operating a vehicle without insurance.

He is being held by Alabama law enforcement for Giles County and also the Pulaski Police Department where he will face additional charges.
