The annual Music in the Park concert series kicks off this week in Fayetteville as Strangers with Friends opens the  series with a performance on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Music in the Park concerts are planned throughout the summer at Stone Bridge Memorial Park.

The family-friendly summer concert series is hosted by the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau, in conjunction with the City of Fayetteville and  Parks and Recreation Department.

Carolyn Denton, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce, invites residents to come out and enjoy the free concerts at the park, encouraging folks to bring their chairs and blankets for an evening of great music and fellowship for all ages. Children are invited to bring a beach ball or hula hoops for fun on the grass while parents enjoy listening to the music and visiting with friends.

Concessions will be available for each concert, with Floyd’s Farm Food Truck and Kona Ice serving as the official food vendors for the concert series this summer. C&R Buggy Tours will also be on hand to offer rides to visitors during some of the concerts.
