A Canadian auto supplier announced plans Wednesday to convert part of an abandoned bicycle and lawn equipment plant in Lawrenceburg to make steel racks for the auto industry.

Advanced Design Solutions Inc. said it plans to invest $10 million and create nearly 180 jobs in Lawrenceburg.

The new plant will be located in part of the former Murray Ohio Manufacturing Company facility at 100 Hicks Street.

Once the company has completed renovations, the company anticipates it will start production in June.

Headquartered in Ontario, Canada, Advanced Design Solutions manufactures steel shipping racks for the auto industry. The company also operates a facility in Middletown, Ohio.

Governor Bill Lee said  there is no better place in America for auto companies to operate than the Volunteer State. "This investment from Advanced Design Solutions in Lawrence County is a testament to the strong workforce across rural Tennessee, and I'd like to thank the company for its commitment to creating 180 new high quality jobs.
