A public hearing was held prior to the regular meeting of the Ardmore, Tennessee Mayor and Aldermen concerning the re-zoning of property on Highway 110 and Elk Street, owned by Sherry Huddleston.

An ordinance to re-zone parcels owned by Huddleston from R-1 to B-2, was approved unanimously on first reading .

During the monthly meeting, alderman approved an ordinance adopting the annual budget and tax rate for the fiscal year beginning July 1 and ending June 30, 2020.

  Mayor Magnusson told the Council a 2013 Tahoe for the police department had been purchased. The cost of the vehicle was $14,689.00 with an equipment cost of $2,985.00. He said the total cost will be split between the City, Town and Police Department and that the City's cost will be paid from the Drug fund.

Alderman also approved a 2.5 percent raise for Patrol Larry Chapman.

Mayor Magnusson reported he had been contacted by Joe Mitchell, who had done electrical work in the Maddox building in 2018 but had failed to get a final inspection permit. Mitchell was wanting the City to pay the accumulated cost of $200.00 for the final inspection.

The  City and Town Councils were asked to consider recruiting EMTs and pay for the cost of schooling, after EMA director, Tim Toone advised he only has three or four active EMTs at this time.
