The Biology Department from Martin Methodist College observed Earth Day by cleaning up trash from Pleasant Run Creek near Sam Davis Park in an effort to raise awareness of the environment.

The cleanup is the first of a four day event ending today for the students.

The effort was made possible by the Martin Methodist College  Alumni Association that included approximately 80 volunteers and collected more than 550 pounds of trash.
