Jenkins brought a knife from his mother's home to the invasion, but he did not use it and only used his fists to pummel the older man.

In a statement, Police say that Jenkins made a statement saying he had a point to prove and proved his point.

The 63-year-old man was rushed to Vanderbilt Medical Center by helicopter for treatment of critical injuries.

Officials said Jenkins mug shot shows a slight smile, which is symbolic of how he acted after the brutal attack that almost left a man dead.

According to his mother, Jenkins lost two jobs just last week for fighting.

Jenkins is charged with aggravated assault and aggravated burglary, but officials said more charges are possible. He was booked into the Lawrence County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
