The Maury County Courthouse was evacuated Wednesday afternoon. According to the Daily Herald, emergency personnel responded to the Public Square just before 3 o'clock to reports of a bomb threat.

The building was evacuated, and after an investigation, reopened at 3:35 pm.

Also, at the University of North Alabama in Florence, a fire broke out at the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity house on Wednesday just before 4 o'clock in the afternoon.

According to the Times Daily, authorities said the fire broke out on the second floor in the back half of the building and spread quickly.

Eight fraternity members who live in the house were accounted for and no injuries were reported. UNA assured that those students will be taken care of.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time and is expected to be a complete loss.
