The Giles County Adult Oriented Entertainment Board voted March 26 to begin the process of revoking license of one adult entertainment business and suspend the license of another.

During the meeting, the board received reports on the Midnight Express located at 8998 Lewisburg Highway and the Watering Hole, 9000 Lewisburg Highway .

After an inspection, members of the Giles County Sheriff’s Department gave a written report to the board, which judged the violations at the Watering Hole to be more serious than those at Midnight Express.

Members voted  to suspend the license of the Midnight Express and to revoke the one of the Watering Hole.

When both businesses are notified by letter of the boards action, owners and/or managers of the adult entertainment establishments can ask for a hearing before the board to answer all charges.

After the hearing and appeals process, the Adult Oriented Entertainment Board may vote to take legal action against the businesses.

At both places, deputies paid cover charges to enter undercover.

According to reports, not all entertainers had permits at the Midnight Express.

Board member Dewitt Booth said he wants to learn more and recommended a 60-day suspension of the Midnight Express license.

At the Watering Hole, one performer allegedly exposed herself and not all performers had permits. The report also states there was a concealed area, which is not allowed, among other charges.

Booth recommended a five-year revocation for the businesses and maybe that would get their attention.
