Two positions in Giles County Government has been posted on the Giles County website.

One position is for a manager at the Giles County Animal Shelter, formerly known as the Giles County Dog Pound.

The Commission’s Public Service Committee recently received an update from County Executive Melissa Greene on a proposal to turn the pound into a shelter. 

The other position is for a director at the Old Records Department.

County Executive Melissa Greene said a replacement will be sought for Dan Watson, who has retired as director of the department.

She said the position will be part-time. 

The director’s position, Greene said, will become part-time.

Persons selected for both positions will report to Greene.

 Applications are available at Greene’s office on the second floor of Courthouse Annex and should be returned there. The application deadline for both positions is 3 p.m. Friday, April 12.
