Giles County Sheriff Deputy Larry Gulley received the Pulaski Exchange Club Law Enforcement Officer of the Year at a recent meeting.

Gulley has been with the department for 13 years and also served 22 years in the US Navy before retiring as a Senior Chief.

The deputy said he had received awards in the Navy, but this award is special because it comes from people in the community and people I work with.

Sheriff Kyle Helton said Gulley has continually been a mentor to both new and existing members of their organization.

The annual competition is open to officers of agencies in Giles County or whose agencies serve the county.
