A 3.5 percent pay raise for Ardmore Emergency Management Director was approved during a meeting of the Ardmore Board of Mayor and Alderman.

The pay raise for Tim Toone was recommended by Mayor Mike Magnusson and also Ardmore, Alabama Mayor Billy Shannon.

Toone works with EMA offices in Giles and Limestone County, Alabama plus answers medical calls and assists Ardmore Police with motor vehicles and computers.

Also, during the meeting,  an amount of space needed in the Ardmore Veterans Museum could lead to finding another home which opened during 2018 in the Maddox Building.

Mayor Magnusson voted no to break a  3-3 tie on enlarging the museum's floor space.

Alderman Garon Hargrove, Raymond Crabtree, and Paul Manen voted in favor of enlarging the museum, while Vice-Mayor Shane Emerson and Alderman Sherman and Spencer Smith voted no.

Former vice-mayor Kenneth Crowson, assisted in starting the museum, said public interest in the museum has led to many donations.

According to Crowson, he needs more room because he has  two vehicles coming to the museum and needs additional space .

Magnusson said he had to vote no because they cannot give away the entire building.
