Approximately 18 tons of recyclables have been kept out of landfills thanks to efforts at schools throughout Giles County.

The report also shows the most recycling, 10,360 pounds took place in November, according to county Solid Waste/Recycling Coordinator Julie Phillips.

Figures from February 2019, come from Richland and Giles County high schools, Pulaski, Richland, Minor Hill, Elkton and Southside elementary schools plus the Giles County Board of Education office buildings and Martin Methodist College. No figures were reported from Bridgeforth Middle School, though the school was listed in the report.
