Members of the Giles Fire And Rescue were summoned to Richland High School this morning (Tuesday) due to smoke in one of the classrooms.

During the investigation, all students were evacuated from the school building .

According to Assistant Schools Director  Michael Gonzales , the problem was from a charred fan motor in a 25 year old central unit which generated smoke throughout the ductwork.

He said the motor was turned off until the unit is replaced.

Gonzales reported smoke in the classroom was removed and school is back to normal.
