Debate over charges continues in a Lawrenceburg baby's assault.

A father accused of badly beating his baby daughter could be indicted for aggravated child abuse instead of attempted homicide.

The district attorney is seeking an attempted criminal homicide charge against the child's father, 30-year-old Michael Fisher .

The baby was rushed to a Nashville hospital after suffering severe trauma in January. She was treated for broken bones and bleeding on the brain.

A grand jury will work on indictments and it is possible Fisher will ultimately be charged with aggravated child abuse instead of attempted homicide.

Her mother, 27-year-old Brooklyn Tidwell, was charged with aggravated child neglect.

The baby has since been discharged from the hospital, however, she still has a long road to recovery.
