An arraignment for a Giles County man charged with rape is scheduled Monday in Circuit Court.

Circuit Judge asked in February that Johnny Dewaye Boyd, 52,  be held without bond in the Giles County Jail.

Boyd was charged in November 2018 on 3 counts of Raping a Child and three counts of Incest.

Also on Monday's Circuit Court Docket is arraignment for Tala Nicole Verley of Gurley, Alabama, who was indicted by the Giles County Grand Jury with the October shooting death of Ardmore resident James Eric Smith, 28.

Verley remains in the Giles County Jail on charges of second-degree murder; manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of methamphetamines; possession of a firearm used in a dangerous felony; and fabricating/tampering with evidence.

She was taken into custody in February by the U.S. Marshal’s office and extradited to the Giles County Sheriff’s Department (GCSD) from Madison County, Alabama.

Her bond is set at $250,000.
