Amendments to the 2018-2019 budget was approved in a meeting by the Giles County School Board.

The budget amendment included funds received for a Read To Be Ready grant and money moved from special education to pay for a student to be placed in an assisted living facility at a cost of $8,500 per month.

According to School Director Phillip Wright, Giles County school system is required to house the student at King's Daughter facility and is unsure how long it will be required.

The budget was submitted to the county commission for consideration.
