Giles County Schools were closed Thursday and will be closed Friday due to the potential for more flooding.

Flash Flood Watch  is now in effect for all of Middle Tennessee including Giles County beginning tonight (Thursday)  through Saturday night.  An additional 2 to 4 inches of rain is forecast over the next few days, with the heaviest rain Friday into Friday night, which will likely lead to more flooding.

Giles County measured another 2 inches of rain Wednesday pushing the monthly totals over 10 inches of rain.

Emergency personnel are encouraging local residents to take precautions to prepare for potential flood waters over the weekend.

According to Giles County Rescue Squad,  there was a report Wednesday of entrapment in flood waters just north of Wray Branch Road. The four people were removed safely with no injuries.

According to Giles County Highway Department, they are seeing roads today (Thursday) covered with water or impassable. Problem spots include Gunter Smith, Minnow Branch, Old Campbellsville, Dixontown Road, Robertson Hollow, Annie Wade, Jack Holt and Veto Road.

The department are still advising people to use caution because there are many roads with debris.
