The Columbia Police Department has identified 21-year-old Kamondrez Carlton as the deceased victim in a Friday shooting near Spring Hill High School.


In a release issued Saturday morning, police said Carlton was found injured with a gunshot wound at Quick Mart, just south of the high school.


Carlton was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he died from his injuries.


Twenty-year-old D’Qwaun Dalton has been identified by the department as the alleged shooter. He was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault resulting in death.
Dalton remains held in the Maury County Jail without bond.


Deondre Raymon McClain, a 23-year-old who shares an address with Dalton, was also arrested Saturday, according to records at the Maury County Jail.


McClain is charged with felony escape, evading arrest, possession of a Schedule VI drug for resale, drug paraphernalia, false reports and felony possession of a weapon.
The Columbia Police Department continues to investigate the case.
