The Limestone County coroner confirms a pedestrian was killed by a vehicle Tuesday night.

The wreck was on Alabama 127 near Hays Mills Road. Coroner Mike West said a man was walking across the street to check his mail when he was struck by a vehicle traveling north on 127.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. West identified him as 87-year-old Richard Steelman. West said the driver stopped. Alabama State Troopers investigated.
