A woman was killed and several others were injured after seven tornadoes hit Middle Tennessee that spawned during severe storms between Monday night and Tuesday morning.


According to TEMA, the greatest impacts were reported in Franklin, Grundy, Lawrence, Rutherford and Knox counties.


A cluster of severe storms and two tornadoes downed several large trees and took out power in Lawrence County, according the EMA director.


In Lawrence County an EF-0 tornado touched down east of Highway 98 and caused minor damage to a home on Hood Hollow Road. It also destroyed several outbuildings.


Also in Lawrence County an EF-1 tornado touched down on Bluff Road and rolled a mobile home. It also demolished two hay barns and destroyed the dugouts and bleachers at the Loretto baseball field.
