The Giles County Dog Pound has closed temporarily, and 22nd Judicial District Attorney General Brent Cooper’s office is investigating the activities there.

Giles County Executive Melissa Greene said this week that she, not the DA’s office, has temporarily closed the pound.

Greene referred requests for more information to Cooper’s office.

He declined further comment and said his office would issue a statement at an appropriate time. 

All animals have been taken from the pound, Greene said.
