A 48-year-old man was killed Saturday night in a single-vehicle crash about five miles north of Athens in Limestone County.

Ronald Lee Haggard, of Elkmont, died after the 1999 Ford F-150 he was driving went off the road on Alabama 99, struck a culvert and overturned, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Haggard was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and authorities pronounced him dead on the scene.

The Alabama Highway Patrol investigated the crash on Saturday.
